Aside from the legend of the bloodthirsty Count, most remark that the people of Romania are exceptionally friendly and hospitable. It is due to this friendliness that many people who visit Romania enjoy the many festivals that occur throughout the year. In Romania, it seems that there is always a reason to celebrate with food, fun, and great festivities.
Some of the most popular festivals include the Traditional Crafts Fair, that takes place in Bucharest each June and the Bucharest of Old celebration in July. The Bucharest of Old celebration involves dressing up in authentic Romanian outfits and enjoying life as if it were the early 1800’s.
Castles are one of the highlights of Romania, and there are many to choose from. The first castle of mention is Peles Castle. Built in 1883, the Peles Castle is revered for its exquisite furnishings, museum worthy artifacts, and magnificent location in Sinaia.
The Royal Palace in Bucharest is also another amazing piece of architecture. Completed by the year 1937, the Palace houses the National Museum of Art and includes numerous pieces by Romanian and East European artists.
